One to One Tutorials

Personal, focused, and built around how you actually learn. My private sessions combine clear demos with hands-on practice, so you leave with skills you can repeat, not just notes. One-to-one teaching consistently outperforms group instruction because feedback, pace, and tasks are tailored to you; classic education research shows large gains for learners under good tutoring conditions.

What we can focus on

Camera confidence: exposure you can trust, fast focus workflows, custom button setups.
Portraits that hold up at 100%: natural light, reflectors, and studio flash. If you’re using leaf-shutter lenses, we’ll use full-speed flash sync outdoors for clean midday portraits.
Studio lighting, simply: one-light to three-light setups, balancing ambient and flash, tethered shooting.
Composition & editing that travel: from contact sheets and selects to a consistent grading look for print and web.
Analogue–digital bridges (on request): cyanotype/screen-print workflows, scan-to-print quality control, file delivery for clients.

How it works

Quick intake: your goals, kit, and a few sample images.
Tailored session plan: we pick 2–3 scenarios that match your aims (e.g., backlit portraits, daylight-flash, product still life).
Shoot + feedback loop: short drills, immediate review, small adjustments that stick.

1–2–1 Photography Tuition (London)

Bespoke, hands-on tuition tailored to your goals. Sessions run on location, at my office or at my studio. Travel within Zones 1–2 is included.

3 hours — £420
Full day (10:30am to 4pm | 1 hour lunch break) — £650
2 days - £1200
3 days £1800

Minimum booking: 2 hours at £150/hr (on location or at my office, Zones 1–2 included).

Studio Tutorials

+£40/hr or +£180/day (covers lighting and modifiers | The Camera club)
Studio hire, if required, is billed at the venue’s rate (quoted in advance)

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

48 hours or more: No tuition fee charged. Any non-refundable third-party costs (e.g., studio hire) are passed through at cost.
Less than 48 hours and more than 24 hours: 50% of the tuition fee is charged, plus any non-refundable third-party costs.
Less than 24 hours: 100% of the tuition fee is charged, plus any non-refundable third-party costs.
